'Open Circle'

I worked with various local groups including the youth club and St Mungo's Rough sleepers centre nearby. After experimenting with casting from old flower pots a scheme for a focal seating area cast from larger containers developed. The pillars were cast in-situ from collected bins, buckets and water butts. Coloured marble was cast into coloured concrete and polished to a smooth finish. The benches were cut from oak railway sleepers. 2003

We used coloured marble pebbles as aggregate int he pignmented concrete.

Different containers were joined with carved oak sleepers.

The seats provided a focal area for local kids to meet,

The arrangement provided lots of ways of sitting.
