St Albans High School for Girls: Short Residency

An introduction to three different sculpting processes. Taking an old door as a starting point pupils made a fragmented cast using plaster and clay. From the keyhole on the door we changed scale to make large ornate metal keys by drilling, riveting, bolting and binding metal components. The third session used wood and cane to create free standing architectural forms with domes, stairs, walls and ... doors. Part of a short residency in which I talked to various year groups and started some new work of my own (see Studio+).
