Aylward Academy Life and words
The life of Gladys Aylward in China during the war is quite a tale (read 'The Little Woman'). The pupils visited Kensal Green Cemetery before making a memorial panel from ceramic tiles. It uses words and images to tell something of the exploits of the school's name sake. Cate Gordon from Arts Depot and poet Yemisi Blake assisted with the project and the students worked towards Bronze Arts Awards, a nationally recognised qualifications at Level 1.
