'Liable to Flooding' Installation

slider

Inspired by the Heron who regularly waited patiently with fixed gaze at the tide pool outside the studio window. The Window is obscured by heavy timbers like those used in the gates on the Brentford Lock outside. The view was limited and the light controlled. The installation was site specific, accompanied by the constant sound of running water. Perhaps a bit theatrical, certainly meditative, it came from thinking about looking, lenses and the inevitable forces of tide and time. A joint installation with my fellow artist Matthew Galpin. Held at my old studio over looking the Thames in Brentford. We shared some good synchronicity whilst working together, in particular the discovery of the myth of the Bennu Bird.
